Our regularly scheduled events are open to all. Advanced registration is required for events for which childcare is provided. All childcare is provided by employees and volunteers who have an up to date background check on file.
Chili’s Gives Back Event
Tuesday, March 30th, Chili’s is supporting Embrace’s Adoption Assistance Fund by donating 10% of every supporting customer’s bill. So grab your friends, families and co-workers for lunch or dinner to help families provide forever homes to orphans and waiting children. Email kate@embracetexas.org to obtain a flyer to give to your server.
Families in the Park
An event held three times each year for foster and adoptive families, as well as Embrace volunteers, and those interested in becoming involved in one of these areas. A time of fun and fellowship for all. Locations vary.
Therapy Options for Kids
Saturday, April 10, 8:30AM-12:30PM
A unique opportunity for parents to learn in a hands-on environment about a variety of therapies to benefit neglected and abused children. The cost of the event is $5 and childcare is provided for $5/child. Contact denise@embracetexas.org for more information and to register.
Dads In Search of the Perfect Enchilada
This monthly event is open to men of all ages— Adoptive dads, foster dads, grandparents, fathers and sons. Discussion topics vary week to week. Takes place on the 2nd Thursday of each month at La Hacienda Ranch in Frisco (Just off Hwy 121 and Preston Road) from 8:00-9:30 pm. No children, please.
Coffee Shop Moms
This monthly event is for ladies dreaming of motherhood, and those up to their elbows in toddlers, fostering, adopting, waiting, grandmothers, and any mother who would enjoy an evening of chatting and fellowship. Parenting topics discussed each month. This event takes place on the first Thursday of each month at La Madeleine Bistro in McKinney on Highway 75 and Eldorado (in the back room) from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. No advanced reservation required. No children, please.
Foster/Adoptive Parent Training
In Spring each year, Embrace facilitates foster/adoptive licensing training with a variety of Child Placing Agencies. Our 2010 training was provided by Covenant Kids Foster Care and Adoption Services and hosted by Rhea’s Mill Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas.
