serving as a small group

When you serve with your church small group you’re doing good for the community, and good for your group. Working alongside one another is a galvanizing experience, as is celebrating the collective impact your group creates. Volunteer groups of 6-12 individuals are the ideal size for many of Embrace’s events and programs. Please consider the opportunities listed on the calendar below, but we’re also open to working with you to identify specific dates or ways you’d like to serve.
Portraits of Hope

The vision of Embrace is a loving, stable home for every child, and the Portraits of Hope gallery is just one way we are working to make that vision a reality. You can be a part of finding adoptive families for children lingering in foster care. The gallery would not be possible without the financial support of congregations in our community who care about kids.

At Embrace, we fervently believe every child deserves the love, safety, and stability of a forever family. Children lingering in foster care may drift from placement to placement as they wait, often many years, for a forever family. Embrace’s unique “Child to Family Connection” events help connect prospective adoptive parents with these waiting children.

Foster, adoptive and kinship care families are always changing, and so are the needs of their kids! Whether you’re in need of a toddler bed, toys, or gently used clothing, a local “foster closet” can be a great resource for your family. We’ve compiled a list of foster closets and resources serving families like yours in the DFW area. PLEASE contact each location to confirm details/hours/procedures before you make a visit. Some locations allow you to “shop” for children in your care, while others pull items for you. The resources listed here are independent, and not a part of the Embrace Texas ministry. Embrace is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Monetary donation to Embrace are tax deductible, but they also help stretch your impact.
